Leserepla village, Ureparapara

This song talks about how some people many years ago would go out to sea, even in bad weather, and were able read the stars to navigate. There are only some people who have been chosen to have this skill to navigate and travel between the islands. On the island of Ureparapara, a man went out to sea and got caught in a cyclone. The wind was right behind him and it took him to Vanua Lava Island. His family was crying and calling out for their son but they didn’t find out till later that he had been washed, alive, onto the island of Vanua Lava.
