The Kulila Project'​ is a digital-only compilation accompanies the premiere vinyl release of Frank Yamma, known as one of Australia’s most important Indigenous songwriters. This compilation features reworkings and remixes of ​his songs including never before released material.

‘Kulila’ roughly translates to ‘listen up’ in Pitjantjatjara. '​The Kulila Project' seeks to showcase the scope of musicians and producers who are touched by Yamma’s music and shows the different ways they respond to his accomplished ​songwriting​. The compilation ​has been overseen by producer and longtime collaborator ​David Bridie​, who also contributed four reworked tracks - Beginning of the Day, Jay Creek, Kapi Pulka.

The compilation also features the two remixes by ​Jinku​, ​Hiribae ​and Ukweli ​who are all members of Nairobi’s music/art collective EA Wave (East African Wave) as well as reworkings by ​James Henry​, ZEDSIX and Corin Ileto (​CORIN​).

Each track brings a new perspective to Frank’s soaring vocals and deeply affecting lyrics, with fresh arrangements and interpretations by contemporary artists and collaborators.
